After the defeat to West Ham, coach Ruben Amorim admitted that he could leave the position of coach of Man Utd if the club did not improve its poor performance. However, today (May 15), the Portuguese strategist changed his decision.

Accordingly, the coach born in 1985 affirmed that he will not leave Man Utd unless he is fired. Besides, he also admitted that there is great pressure if he cannot help the Red Devils win the Europa League and win a ticket to participate in the Champions League next season.
Coach Ruben Amorim said: "Since I arrived here, I have always talked about the standard of play. If the team plays poorly in the Premier League, I cannot avoid responsibility. I have no intention of resigning. What I want to say is that if we do not perform, the club will sack me. That is normal.
If we don't win the Europa League, I'll be under a lot of pressure. But I'm not worried about that. It would be bad, but I won't use that as an excuse. I understand that the patience of the fans and the media has its limits. For me, qualifying for the Champions League is more important than anything else.
We need to be in the Champions League. Even if we win the Europa League, it's not enough. Everyone here feels that. Playing in the Champions League is the shortest way for Man Utd to find the top."

However, on the other hand, coach Ruben Amorim believes that not playing in European Cup for a year is better for Man Utd to be able to build the squad.
The 40-year-old coach added: "That's my feeling. We need more time to work together. There are many things to adjust at Carrington, instead of being stuck in the cycle of continuous competition. If you want to play well in European Cups and be able to compete in the Premier League, it's a big challenge."
In the context of Man Utd's financial difficulties, the team's management decided to cut costs for relatives of the coaching staff to go to Bilbao to watch Man Utd play in the Europa League final against Tottenham. In that situation, Coach Amorim spent his own money to buy plane tickets and expenses so that his staff could bring their families to Spain.
The Europa League final between Man Utd and Tottenham takes place at 2am on May 22.
