Pig price on July 22, 2025: Sharp decrease nationwide

DNVN - The live pig market on July 22, 2025 decreased sharply in all three regions, with a clear downward trend across the board.

The Northern market on July 22 witnessed a widespread decrease across the region, with no locality maintaining prices the same as on July 21.

Most provinces in the region reduced by 1,000 VND/kg. Prices in Hanoi , Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho all decreased from 64,000 VND/kg to 63,000 VND/kg. At the same time, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces simultaneously reduced prices from 62,000 VND/kg to 61,000 VND/kg.

The current transaction price range in the North is commonly from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Price developments in the Central Highlands

The Central Highlands region continued to face a sharp decline on July 22. The lowest price in the country was recorded in Gia Lai at 60,000 VND/kg, after a further decrease of 1,000 VND.

Lam Dong and Dak Lak are the two localities with the deepest adjustment, both down 2,000 VND/kg. Khanh Hoa, Da Nang , Quang Ngai and Quang Tri all slightly reduced by 1,000 VND/kg. Thua Thien Hue is the only place that maintains the unchanged level of 62,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in this area fluctuates between 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

Update on live pig prices in the South

In the South – where prices are the highest in the country – the latest adjustment has had a clear impact on the market. Many localities have seen a reduction of 1,000 – 2,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Dong Thap and An Giang recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg. Lam Dong alone decreased by 2,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Can Tho City continued to maintain a high price of 65,000 VND/kg - the highest in the South. Ca Mau is still leading the country with 66,000 VND/kg.

The price range in the Southern region is currently at 63,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.

According to experts, pig prices will likely continue to decrease in some provinces and cities.
