With the same reduction, Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces adjusted the purchase price down to 53,000 VND/kg, while Son La recorded the lowest price in the region at 52,000 VND/kg.

Localities such as Cao Bang , Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Dien Bien still maintain the price at around 53,000 VND/kg.

Particularly, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong and Ninh Binh continue to hold the highest price in the North, reaching 54,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The Central Highlands region this morning also witnessed a slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in some provinces, with purchasing prices fluctuating between 50,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.

In Hue and Lam Dong, the decrease of 1,000 VND/kg brought the pork price to 51,000 VND/kg.

Southern pig price

The southern live hog market this morning also followed a slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in many places, fluctuating from 50,000 to 53,000 VND/kg.

Three localities including Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho all recorded a decrease of VND1,000/kg, bringing the current transaction price down to VND51,000/kg.

Vinh Long also reduced 1,000 VND/kg, lowering pork price to 50,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and An Giang still maintain the level of 52,000 VND/kg; only Ca Mau continues to maintain the highest price in the region at 53,000 VND/kg.

According to experts from the Vietnam Animal Husbandry Association, pig prices are expected to stabilize next week before possibly increasing slightly in early November.

The reason is believed to be that the demand for fresh meat, meat pieces and processed products will increase during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2026, while the supply from large farms has not improved significantly.

“If epidemic prevention is well controlled and animal feed prices remain stable, the market may witness a 2-3% increase in mid-November,” said expert Nguyen Thanh Trung (National Institute of Animal Husbandry).

However, he also noted that the livestock industry is still facing the risk of African swine fever recurrence and pressure on logistics costs, requiring farmers and businesses to maintain biosecurity measures, closely monitor the market and avoid massive herd restoration.
