After being established on the basis of merging Ward 6 and Thoi Son Commune, Thoi Son Ward ( Dong Thap Province) quickly stabilized its organization, promoting the unique strengths of the riverside area. With the determination to innovate, the locality promoted the application of information technology in management activities and serving the people, forming a solid foundation for the model of "Electronic Government associated with ecological - civilized urban areas".

During the 2020 - 2025 term, the ward achieved many outstanding results. The economic growth rate remained stable, the total budget revenue reached 103.4%, the average income per capita reached 78.78 million VND/year. The trade - service sector developed strongly, creating jobs and stable income for people. In particular, the model "Developing community tourism associated with Southern amateur music and OCOP products" was effectively implemented, contributing to enriching the appearance of the riverside urban area in the West.

At the same time, Thoi Son proactively implemented comprehensive digital transformation. Software such as iOffice, email, and electronic information portal are regularly used in the management and processing of administrative records. Specialized departments set up internal Zalo groups to exchange and coordinate work quickly and effectively.

The locality has also deployed three typical models: “Electronic One-Stop Shop”, “Denunciation of Crime via VNeID” and “Cashless Payment in Administrative Procedures”. These models help reduce the time for processing documents, increase transparency, and create satisfaction and trust among the people towards the government.

The results show that administrative reform and public service have made significant progress. 100% of eligible administrative procedures are implemented online. The rate of people using online public services has increased sharply, contributing to making Thoi Son a bright spot in Dong Thap's grassroots digital transformation.

Ecological development

Not only transforming in digital governance, Thoi Son ward also aims to develop according to the ecological - civilized urban model, taking advantage of its location along the My Tho river and the typical garden ecosystem. This is a strategic step, helping the locality to both develop the economy and preserve cultural - environmental values.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Dung - Secretary of Thoi Son Ward Party Committee, in the new term 2025 - 2030, Thoi Son determined the motto of action "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Development", focusing on breakthroughs in sustainable community tourism development. The locality focuses on linking specialty fruit gardens with homestay models, traditional craft villages and agricultural experience activities, forming eco-tourism products with a strong Southern imprint.

There are currently 5 green tourism companies operating in the area, taking visitors to 19 tourist attractions, along with 56 stalls selling handicrafts and local specialties. These models not only create stable livelihoods but also contribute to preserving the culture of Don Ca Tai Tu - a unique heritage of this land.

To move towards a modern ecological urban area, the ward prioritizes the development of environmentally friendly transport infrastructure, encourages the use of electric vehicles, bicycles, and buses running on clean fuel, and at the same time classifies and treats waste at source. Water and road traffic routes are interconnected, forming at least two model community tourism clusters, ensuring urban amenities while preserving a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.

Along with that, the ward has stepped up support for small businesses and individual business households through training in management skills, access to capital, and promoting digital transformation in business. The number of poor households has decreased to less than 1%, 90% of people participating in health insurance, 83.33% of schools have met national standards - numbers that demonstrate synchronous efforts for the goal of "rich people, strong ward, civilized society".

Thoi Son has a unique location, both urban and rural. The locality needs to concretize that potential into clear and drastic action programs right from the beginning of the term, taking people as the center, digital transformation and ecological urbanization as the driving force for sustainable development. With the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of innovation and the determination of the entire political system and the people, Thoi Son ward is confidently entering a new stage of development - where e-government goes hand in hand with ecological urbanization, bringing a civilized and modern appearance to the fertile river land.
