Heavy rains in the past few days in the Central region, river floods and landslides in some areas have seriously affected people's lives, especially in Hue and Da Nang .

By 8:00 a.m. on October 28, 2025, in Da Nang, the rain had stopped, floodwaters were beginning to recede, but the power grid was still widely lost. In Hue , light rain fell across the entire area, flooding was widespread throughout Hue city, floodwaters were receding slowly, some areas were flooded at and above the historical flood level of 1999.

According to a representative of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), many of its telecommunications stations in the Central region were also isolated. The power grid was cut off in large areas across Hue and Da Nang, affecting telecommunications services.

To ensure communication, VNPT has coordinated with other network operators to open roaming in Hue and some areas of Da Nang.

Due to the impact of the flood, the fiber optic cable on the Ho Chi Minh trail was broken at many points. Despite the flood, the on-site technical team of VNPT was ready to handle the situation and rescue, but due to the landslide, they could not reach the site.

Immediately after the rain stopped and the flood passed, although VNPT's headquarters was also flooded, VNPT's on-site technical staff were working hard to both urgently clean up computers, files, and protect assets at the headquarters while also making efforts to protect and maintain the safety of the telecommunications network to ensure the best possible service quality for customers.

Technical staff are on duty 24/7 at stations to promptly handle machinery, equipment, switchboards, deploy rescue equipment, materials, and transfer fuel to telecommunication stations in deeply flooded areas./.
