Tan Bien District Police: Arrested a cow thief

Previously, at around 7:20 p.m. on April 15, 2023, Mr. Le Minh Duc, 37 years old, residing in Thanh Tan hamlet, Thanh Binh commune, lost 3 cows so he reported to Thanh Binh commune police for support.

Thanh Binh Commune Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Team of Tan Bien District Police to deploy forces, mobilize people and join the search.

Following the trail, at around 2:00 p.m. on April 16, 2023, Tan Bien District Police discovered 3 cows tied in a rubber plantation in Thanh Xuan Hamlet, Mo Cong Commune, and a suspicious subject. Seeing the police force, the suspect ran away into a nearby cassava field of about 80 hectares to hide.

The police cordoned off the area and mobilized people and drones to search for the suspect. Seeing many people chasing him, the suspect fled and was arrested by the police and taken to the headquarters for questioning.

At the police station, the suspect stated his name was Le Van Can. Because he needed money to spend, Can drove a motorbike with license plate number 70P1-8917 from his house in Thanh Hung hamlet, Thanh Dien commune, Chau Thanh district to Tan Bien district to find property to steal.

Police seized evidence.

When arriving at Mr. Le Minh Duc's house, Can observed that in front of the house there were 3 cows tied in a rubber garden, with no one watching. Can stole the 3 cows and led them to a field of cassava in Thanh Xuan hamlet, Mo Cong commune, tied them there and then returned home.

At noon, when Can rented a truck to transport the cows to sell, he was discovered and arrested by local people and the police. The seized evidence included 3 cows with a total weight of 780kg, 1 mobile phone; 1 motorbike with license plate 70B1-8917.

The case is currently under investigation for handling according to regulations.
