This year's Michelin Guide introduces a total of 164 dining establishments to residents and visitors. Of these, 7 restaurants have received one Michelin Star, 58 have received Bib Gourmand, and 99 have received Michelin Selected.
According to Mr. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin Guide, this year, in addition to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi , there is also Da Nang - a new city added in the second announcement of Michelin Guide in Vietnam. Adding Da Nang as a destination is a factor that helps to make the choices more rich and diverse with unique local dishes and specialties.

"Famous chefs are increasingly opening restaurants in Vietnam, collaborating with a new generation of Vietnamese chefs to develop in a customer-centric direction. Vietnam has truly become an attractive destination on the world culinary map in the eyes of tourists and diners," said Mr. Gwendal Poullennec.
The one-Michelin-starred restaurants announced last year include Gia, Hibana by Koki, Tam Vi and Anan Saigon - which retained their titles.
This year’s Michelin One Star list welcomes two new restaurants and one upgraded restaurant. The two new restaurants awarded one Michelin Star are: Akuna (Ho Chi Minh City) - a restaurant specializing in creative European dishes with influences from Vietnamese cuisine ; La Maison 1888 (Da Nang) - a restaurant serving a menu of 5 or 7 dishes with premium ingredients from Vietnam, France and Japan.
Vegetarian Garden Restaurant (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) was honored in the Bib Gourmand category.
The only restaurant from the Michelin Selected list to be promoted to one Star is The Royal Pavilion (HCMC) - a restaurant with a variety of dishes for customers to choose from.
The list of Bib Gourmand award winners has increased to 58 eateries, double that of last year, and more than half are from Da Nang.
As a new city in the Michelin Guide's list of destinations in Vietnam this year, Da Nang represents the cuisine of the Central region. The dishes in this coastal city leave an unforgettable impression with fresh ingredients instead of complicated recipes.
At the same time, 99 Michelin Selected establishments (including 40 new establishments) were listed in the catalogue for the first time. These establishments are included in the list of selected establishments that have shown the potential to be promoted to Michelin Star status or to move to Bib Gourmand status in the future.

Currently, Michelin Guide is considered the most prestigious culinary guide in the world, ranking restaurants through the Star system. To put it simply, if cinema has Oscars, music has Grammys..., cuisine will have Michelin titles. A restaurant rated with one Star will be a very good restaurant, worth enjoying.
In addition to starred restaurants, Michelin also publishes a list of Michelin-recommended restaurants (Michelin Selected); delicious eateries at affordable prices (Bib Gourmand)...
The Michelin Guide was first launched by the Michelin Tire Company (France) in 1900 with a commitment to providing international tourists and local diners with the best restaurants and eateries in the world, honoring cuisine and contributing to promoting tourism.
