On the morning of October 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision to appoint Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.
Pursuant to Decision No. 1179/QD-TTg dated October 12, 2023, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Tran Hong Thai, Director General of the General Department of Hydrometeorology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.
At the decision-giving ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat congratulated comrade Tran Hong Thai, the new Deputy Minister, a new comrade and colleague of the Party Executive Committee, the Ministry's leaders and the staff and civil servants of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that currently, the Ministry and the Science and Technology sector are focusing on synchronously implementing many tasks and solutions so that science and technology can actively contribute to the completion of socio-economic development goals of the 13th National Congress term; at the same time, implementing policies and orientations on science and technology development and innovation closely following the socio-economic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period.
The coming period requires the State management of science and technology to continue to strongly innovate thinking, continue to perfect institutions, remove difficulties and obstacles, unleash all potentials and resources, create new momentum for the development of science and technology and innovation of the country, associated with the strong application of achievements of the fourth industrial revolution. These are the major orientations and main tasks being set for the advisory, leadership and operation work of the Party Executive Committee and the Ministry's leadership.
To concretize the above work contents, from now until the end of the year, the work of the industry and the Ministry of Science and Technology is still very busy, requiring high determination, daring to think, daring to do; at the same time, it is necessary to tighten administrative discipline and internal solidarity.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for training and educating comrade Tran Hong Thai to mature, accumulate experience through practical work, and strengthen his political capacity to gain the trust of the Central Committee and be assigned to participate in the leadership and management work of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The Minister believes that with the process of working, striving, and training through many different positions, the new Deputy Minister Tran Hong Thai will quickly approach and grasp the work, successfully complete the immediate and long-term tasks, together with the collective Party Executive Committee of the Ministry to continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, unity, cooperation and sharing for the common work, for the development of the Ministry and the science and technology sector.
In his acceptance speech, the new Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Hong Thai thanked the leaders of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Science and Technology for their trust in him and assigned him the new responsibility; and thanked the leaders of the Ministry, the Minister and the leaders of the affiliated units for their support and trust.
Comrade Tran Hong Thai affirmed that with his love for learning, researching, teaching, and practical work in science and technology, the ceremony to award the decision to appoint Deputy Minister is a great honor not only for him personally but also for his colleagues who have accompanied him over the years. However, this is also a heavy responsibility before the Minister and the Party Committee as well as the collective of cadres, civil servants and the community of scientists.
Comrade Tran Hong Thai said that he will make every effort to work with the Ministry of Science and Technology to further develop the fields of science, technology and innovation./.
