In an interview with VNA in Cairo, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung said that following the direction and guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the implementation of citizen protection work affected by the Israel-Iran conflict, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt has actively developed a plan and urgently worked with Egyptian authorities, as well as the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, on welcoming Vietnamese citizens evacuated from Israel to Egypt by road through the Taba border gate on the Sinai Peninsula.
The first group of Vietnamese citizens from Israel is expected to evacuate to Egypt via the Taba border gate on June 20. Embassy staff will be present at the Taba border gate to complete relevant procedures and welcome the citizens evacuated from Israel.
According to the Ambassador, in order to evacuate citizens as well as officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel back to Vietnam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt has urgently discussed and worked with relevant Egyptian agencies to arrange and carry out evacuation procedures through the Taba border gate on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. Of these, about 10 people will stay in Egypt, the rest will return to Vietnam.
As the military conflict between Israel and Iran shows no signs of abating, many countries around the world have implemented plans to evacuate their citizens from Iran and Israel.
