Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union takes care of more than 50,000 union members and workers in the first 6 months of the year.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union dissolved 48 administrative units receiving state salaries, streamlining the apparatus and improving operational efficiency in the new period.

On June 27, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union held a conference to review trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2025 and summarize the 17th "Workers' Month".

In the first 6 months of the year, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union has focused on implementing many practical solutions to care for union members, civil servants, public employees and workers in difficult circumstances. The activities were implemented effectively, at the right time, and for the right subjects, contributing to creating positive changes in the movement of workers, civil servants and laborers.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Luong Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union, said that the 17th "Workers' Month" continued to demonstrate the role of the trade union organization in accompanying workers, with thousands of union members receiving both material and spiritual support.

“From visiting, connecting, and dialogue to taking care of life, the union always focuses on listening, sharing, and accompanying. That is an important foundation to maintain trust among the workforce,” Mr. Tuan Anh emphasized.

In addition to the care work, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union also actively participates in the A50 plan, accompanying key projects and major political tasks of the city, contributing to spreading the exciting emulation atmosphere to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union has taken care of more than 50,000 union members and workers, clearly demonstrating its role in representing and protecting rights and bringing profound human values.

In particular, on this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union announced its farewell to the old trade union model to enter a transition phase following the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus.

“We are entering a new phase with many changes, but what remains unchanged is the union people - still the same heart, still the same spirit, ready to serve, listen and accompany. No matter what model, we are always a family, united, affectionate and creative” - Mr. Tuan Anh confided.

Within the framework of the conference, the City People's Committee's Trade Union awarded collectives and individuals who received the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor ; awarded grassroots trade unions in school areas for the 2024-2025 school year, and outstanding units in the 17th "Workers' Month". At the same time, they awarded symbols of gratitude to collectives and individuals with many contributions.

Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union has dissolved 48 grassroots trade unions receiving 100% of their salaries from the state budget, in line with the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus and improving the efficiency of trade union activities in the new period.
