Recognition of My Thien pottery as national intangible cultural heritage

(QNgTV) - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision 2208 announcing the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List for My Thien pottery, Binh Son commune, Quang Ngai province. This is one of the long-standing traditional crafts, closely associated with the cultural life and livelihood of local people.

My Thien pottery is classified as a “Traditional Craft” and officially becomes part of the national intangible cultural heritage. This recognition not only recognizes the historical and artistic value of the craft village but also opens up opportunities to promote heritage values associated with tourism development and community economy .

My Thien pottery has a history of hundreds of years, notable for its household ceramic products, worship ceramics and traditional building materials, completely handcrafted, fired in wood kilns, demonstrating sophisticated techniques and unique identity of Quang Ngai land.
