After a week-long holiday with their family, Ms. Vo Thi Kim Chung and her husband, residents of Vinh Binh hamlet, Vinh Tuy commune, busily packed their belongings to return to Ho Chi Minh City to continue their work. Having worked as migrant laborers for over 10 years, the couple eagerly awaited holidays so they could visit their families. This year, because the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day was close to the April 30th and May 1st holidays, they arranged their work schedules and requested two extra days off to spend a week in their hometown. This was a long enough period for migrant workers like them to visit their families and fully enjoy their rare extended holiday.

Life in the city is still difficult, and the income of Ms. Chung and her husband is only enough to cover living expenses, rent, and send money back home for their children's education. Ms. Chung confided: "My husband and I are the main breadwinners in the family, so I always try to maintain my job. Now that life is tough, we factory workers have to cherish the jobs we have even more. After each holiday, even though we still miss our families, we still arrange to go back to work. Our hometown is far away, so my husband and I try to leave a day early to rest before starting work. Hopefully, in the future, the company will have more orders so that my husband and I can have regular work and a stable income, so that we can have money to take care of our elderly parents and two children back home."
After the holiday, thousands of workers in the Thanh Loc Industrial Park, Thanh Loc commune, are diligently and enthusiastically working with a high sense of responsibility. On Monday morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, a resident of Rach Gia ward and a worker at Thai Binh Kien Giang Joint Stock Company, arrived at the factory early to begin her shift. The recent holiday brought much joy, allowing Ms. Oanh more time to rest and spend with her family. She and her family took a short trip to relax after tiring days of work and study. As a result, Ms. Oanh has more energy to return to work even better. Ms. Oanh shared: “The 4-day holiday is over, which is also the ideal time to start a new goal. I've even planned ahead for the next holiday to give myself more motivation to work hard. I'm eager to start the new week and have prepared myself mentally and emotionally to be ready to return to work at the company. I hope to have more orders and stable work so that I can earn a higher income and achieve my next goals.”
