Economic security in Binh Duong is guaranteed.

On May 16, in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province, the Institute of Non-Traditional Security, Hanoi National University, in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology and Binh Duong Provincial Police, organized a scientific workshop on "Implementing solutions and plans to prevent and respond to economic security threats in the province". Lieutenant General, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem - Director of the Institute of Non-Traditional Security; Colonel Pham Quoc Dung - Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Police; Dr. Nguyen Viet Long - Member of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Binh Duong Province chaired the workshop.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with experts, scientists , researchers; leaders of Institutes, Departments, People's Police Universities, People's Public Security; leaders of Public Security of some provinces and cities in the region.

Over the past years, economic security work in Binh Duong province has achieved important results, contributing to protecting independence, autonomy and stabilizing the economy; firmly protecting national security, preserving a peaceful and stable environment. Economic sectors have developed, the economic structure has shifted in a positive direction. Binh Duong has become a province in the group of leading developing provinces and cities in the country's innovation cause.

However, in addition to positive results, the productivity and competitiveness of the economy are still low; the level of governance, business efficiency, innovation and technology application are still limited; legal regulations on economic management, investment and business still have many shortcomings; administrative procedures, access to land, resources, credit, etc. still have many difficulties; costs of capital, logistics and administrative procedures are still high. The situation of law violations is complicated. In 2022, Binh Duong Provincial Police discovered 884 economic, corruption and position-related cases, with 891 violators, an increase of 39 cases compared to 2021.

In the coming time, besides favorable opportunities, the province still has many potential threats to economic security such as: Threats to internal security; financial and monetary; labor resources; broken orders, broken production chains, circulation and export of goods. Especially the situation of crimes related to corruption, economics, smuggling threatens economic security... Therefore, proactively preventing and responding to threats to economic security in the province is a very urgent issue in both theory and practice. The scientific workshop "Implementing solutions and plans to prevent and respond to threats to economic security in the province" aims to analyze and understand the relationship between the State's laws and socio-economic development, clarify theoretical and practical issues, and threats to economic security in the province. From there, propose solutions and plans to prevent and respond to risks and threats; contributing to stabilizing political security and social order and safety; serving sustainable socio-economic development.

30 scientific papers presented by experts and scientists at the Workshop focused on 3 major issues: General issues on economic security; prevention and response to economic security threats in Binh Duong province; solutions and framework plans on prevention and response to economic security threats in order to proactively and effectively respond, ensuring security and safety for economic security in Binh Duong province. Many recommendations and solutions were put forward that were comprehensive, synchronous, close to reality and highly feasible when applied./.
