Ho Chi Minh City launches Journalism Award for writing about Resolution 57

The award was organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, aiming to promote the pioneering role of the press in propagating, disseminating and promoting the effective implementation of Resolution 57.

On June 26, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee coordinated with the Department of Culture and Information of Ho Chi Minh City to hold a press conference to provide information on socio -economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City. Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee, attended.

At the press conference, the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City informed about the Press Award for writing about Resolution 57/2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time - 2025.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Nguyen Tan Phong said that the award is a practical activity to recognize and honor the important contributions of reporters, journalists, and editors in accompanying Ho Chi Minh City in effectively implementing Resolution 57. This is a resolution of strategic, long-term, and breakthrough significance, laying the foundation for the country's sustainable development based on knowledge, technology, and innovation.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City Lam Dinh Thang added that Resolution 57 is not only a strategic orientation for the country's sustainable development, but also a call to promote the entire political and social system to act together to make a breakthrough in thinking, institutions, infrastructure, technology and people.

To bring Resolution 57 into life, the Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City called on journalists and reporters to join hands to convey good stories, models, policies and initiatives. Through that, the flame of innovation and aspiration for development in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country will be fanned.

The awardees are reporters, editors, and journalist members of Ho Chi Minh City and Central press agencies with permanent offices in Ho Chi Minh City.

Entries must be in the categories of print, electronic, radio, and television (reportage, notes, interviews, narratives, quick notes, press notes, etc.); published or broadcast from January 1 to November 15, 2025 and selected and submitted by the Branch Secretariat and the Journalists' Association. For central newspapers, confirmation from the Editorial Board is required.

The entries focus on reflecting the key contents of Resolution 57 such as: raising awareness, promoting actions in the whole society on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; perfecting institutions and policies; developing infrastructure and data; developing human resources and attracting talents; promoting innovation and application of science and technology; developing digital government, digital economy, digital society; ensuring information safety, security and data sovereignty .

Each unit organizes its own preliminary selection, then selects the works to submit for the contest. There is no limit to the number of works submitted (including all genres); each author can only submit a maximum of 3 works. Each work must not exceed 5 consecutive newspaper issues (or 5 radio issues).

The awards include 17 individual and group prizes worth nearly 300 million VND. Specifically, one First Prize is worth 50 million VND; two Second Prizes are worth 40 million VND each; three Third Prizes are worth 20 million VND each; and 10 Consolation Prizes are worth 10 million VND each. One Group Prize for the unit with the most entries is worth 40 million VND.

Units organize their own preliminary selection at the grassroots level and send their entries to the Organizing Committee of the Award from November 15 to November 20, 2025, with the envelope clearly stating "Entry for the First Digital Transformation Journalism Award - 2025".
