Overcoming many difficulties and challenges, after half a term of implementing the Resolution of the 16th Party Congress, term 2020-2025, the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company has focused on leading and directing its branches and affiliated Party Committees to maintain and develop production and business effectively, ensuring harmonious interests between shareholders and employees.

Carrying out its tasks in the past half term (from 2020 to early 2023), the Company has been operating under many difficult conditions due to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, a sluggish real estate market, fierce competition in the steel market, unpredictable and prolonged developments.
Meanwhile, the slow recovery of the world economy , along with the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the general trend of increasing interest rates in the world, has disrupted the supply of goods and energy... This has greatly affected the steel market, making it difficult for the Company to manage production.
Sharing with us, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hanh, Party Secretary and General Director of the Company, said: In recent years, the Company's production and business have encountered many difficulties and obstacles of a specific nature such as: Most of the equipment lines are old, affecting the implementation of some economic and technical indicators; although the labor force has decreased, it is still large, and labor productivity is low. In addition, the Company also has difficulties in arranging capital for production and business activities. In particular, the Phase 2 project has not been completely resolved, Phan Me Coal Mine has temporarily stopped mining to convert the license, Trai Cau Iron Mine has stopped mining to protect resources... also reducing output, reducing the advantage of available raw materials of the Company.
Faced with such pressures, right from the beginning of the term, the Company's Party Committee focused on directing departments, divisions, and member units to focus on assessing market developments and developing production and business plans with flexible policies for each month, quarter, and year.
Stick to the plan to build a realistic production plan; base on market developments to choose a suitable production plan, limiting negative impacts on the Company's production and business efficiency.
In addition, the Company continues to apply technical solutions in all stages of production, especially focusing on directing solutions to control raw materials and operations to stabilize blast furnace production; reviewing technical and economic indicators, controlling the quality of input materials and product quality.

In addition, the Company also focuses on reviewing and strengthening management of all stages in the production process; organizing selective investment in renovation of each area to improve productivity and quality; maximizing the advantage of partial autonomy of raw materials to be proactive in production, minimizing the impact of raw material markets, and maintaining effective production and business.
Thanks to good leadership, direction and synchronous and flexible implementation of solutions, the results of the implementation of a number of the Company's main production and business targets in the first half of the term basically reached and exceeded the targets set by the resolution: Industrial production value reached 36,864 billion VND; total revenue reached 36,683 billion VND; total steel billet production output was 1,151,817 tons; total pig iron production output was 612,313 tons; total rolled steel output consumed was 2,498,076 tons; budget contribution was 1,232 billion VND; stable jobs were ensured for 3,683 workers with an average income of 10.8 million VND/person/month...
In the first 5 months of 2023 alone, despite facing many difficulties due to slow product consumption... some of the Company's main production and business targets still met and exceeded the plan, such as: Iron ore exploited nearly 89,000 tons, reaching 59% of the yearly plan; blast furnace pig iron produced over 81,000 tons, reaching 63%; steel billets produced over 129,000 tons, reaching 65%; ensuring jobs and stable income for workers and performing well in social security work.
The overall production and business results after the first half of the term of the Company's Congress were effective, internally stable, the material and spiritual life of cadres, party members and employees were taken care of and improved compared to the beginning of the term. Mass organizations promoted their roles, functions and tasks in propaganda and mobilization for production and business development; promoted coordination in organizing emulation movements to promote initiatives and technical improvements, contributing to uniting the team to overcome difficulties to carry out the Company's political tasks.
To effectively implement the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 16th Party Congress of the Company, including: Total rolled steel output reaching 4,700,000 tons, industrial production value reaching 52,634 billion VND, striving for annual profitable production and business... The Party Committee of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company continues to focus on thoroughly disseminating and raising awareness to each cadre, employee, party organization and party member about the advantages and difficulties in production and business, at the same time requiring thorough practice of thrift, anti-waste; proposing breakthrough solutions in human resource management, in order to better grasp market demand to have plans for the production of traditional products.
Along with that, the Company will coordinate with partners to research and produce products serving the mechanical industry, machine manufacturing, and defense industry to reduce competitive pressure for traditional civil steel products; strengthen strict management of the quality management system, control the production process and product quality... maintain stable production and business, and successfully complete the targets set out in the Resolution of the Company's Party Congress for the term 2020-2025.
