DHĐ Company ensures electricity and water supply downstream in the dry season of 2024

According to the plan, the Company is striving to achieve an output of 2 billion 884 million kWh in 2024. In addition to the task of generating electricity, the Company's hydropower plants also ensure water supply for production and daily life in the downstream areas of Ninh Thuan , Binh Thuan provinces and Don Duong district, Lam Dong province.

According to hydrometeorological forecasts, the strong El Nino phenomenon causing severe heat and drought may last until mid-2024.

In order to ensure harmony between the power generation target and water supply, from the beginning of the dry season, the Company has proactively worked with the locality to unify the water supply plan for production and daily life in the dry season of 2024. Through the meeting, the Company's leaders reported on the operation of the power system and weather developments in the first months of 2024 ; at the same time, they hope that the local authorities and people will understand and share the difficulties in operating hydropower plants in the dry season, and have a plan to use water resources economically and effectively.

DHĐ Company met with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Thuan province and Duc Linh and Tanh Linh districts about the water supply plan for 2024.

Accordingly, the Company has operated generators to supply water to the Ninh Thuan plain from January to March 2024 with an average daily flow of about 13-15m3 ^/ s, discharging a minimum flow to Don Duong district, Lam Dong province of about 2.1m3 ^/ s and supplying the Binh Thuan plain with a flow of about 32 - 40m3 /s ^.

To effectively carry out the above tasks, during the past time, the Company has closely coordinated with local authorities in exchanging and providing timely information on daily machine operation and water supply plans.

Thanks to the close coordination between the Company and local authorities, people in the downstream area have been more proactive in agricultural production, effectively using water sources supplied by the Company's hydroelectric plants.

In addition, the Company has been proactive in maintaining and repairing construction equipment systems so that the generators are always ready to meet the power system operation method of the National Power System Control Center.
