| Floods have broken and fallen many medium and low voltage power poles in Bac Ai Tay commune. |
According to the report of Khanh Hoa Electricity Company, the rain and floods caused many medium and low voltage power poles to break and fall; a series of pole foundations were eroded; wires, meters and electrical equipment were damaged in many locations. At one point, the unit had to isolate up to 1,528 transformer stations, causing 99,126 customers to lose power, accounting for nearly 48% of the total number of customers managed by the company. In particular, the areas of Hanh Rac, Bac Ray 1, Bac Ray 2, Bo Lang villages (Bac Ai Tay commune) were cut off by rocks and soil falling from the mountain. Some sections of power lines had dozens of poles fall, the working force could not access by specialized vehicles, forced to walk for hours carrying tools to the scene. “We determined that our number one task is to restore electricity to the people as quickly and safely as possible. Even though we have to walk for kilometers and work through the night, we are determined to complete the task because people are in dire need of electricity,” said Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Electricity Company.

| Officers and employees of Khanh Hoa Electricity Company are working hard to restore electricity to severely affected areas in Bac Ai Tay commune. |
Immediately after the water receded and the weather permitted, the power shock teams simultaneously deployed repairs. The leaders of Khanh Hoa Power Company assigned direct staff to monitor key points, direct the rebuilding of poles, re-pulling of power lines, and handling of flooded and short-circuited transformer stations. In Bac Ai Tay commune, where nearly 1,000 people lost power for many days, construction teams had to use ropes, pulleys and mobile equipment to temporarily erect poles and re-pulse power lines on very complex terrain. By 5 p.m. on November 23, Khanh Hoa Power Company had restored power to 98,218/99,126 customers, reaching a rate of 99.01%. The remaining were concentrated in areas with heavy landslides and roads that were not yet cleared, so equipment could not be brought in for immediate repairs. According to the plan, before November 25, Khanh Hoa Power Company will restore all electricity to the remaining areas in Phuoc Hau, My Son communes and part of Bac Ai Tay commune. The 6 inaccessible transformer stations will be handled by the electricity industry as soon as the locality completes repairing the severe landslides. The leader of Khanh Hoa Power Company affirmed: "The electricity industry is committed to mobilizing maximum human resources, means and working continuously to soon bring people's lives back to normal. No area will be left without electricity for a long time when the weather has stabilized."
With the drastic participation of the electricity force and the coordination of local authorities, the recovery work is being accelerated hour by hour. These efforts have significantly contributed to stabilizing life and production after natural disasters, especially in remote areas such as Bac Ai Tay - which was heavily affected by the recent floods.
