This is an inter-commune and inter-provincial road from National Highway 55, Dong Kho Commune - DT717 Nghi Duc Commune to DT766 Duc Linh Commune - National Highway 20, Dong Nai. The road is considered a vital artery of importance in security - national defense and is a bridge for people of Lam Dong - Dong Nai provinces to connect in many areas of economic and social development.
To help people in the Nam Thanh area have the conditions to connect the region with Dong Nai to accelerate economic development, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province (old) approved the project "Investment in construction of upgrading and expanding Me Pu - Da Kai road". The scale of the project is about 14,443 m long, roadbed width 9 m, road surface width 8 m, sidewalk width on each side 0.5 m. The road surface structure is asphalt concrete, the sidewalk is filled with earth. Build 2 new bridges (Da Kai bridge at Km 7+700 and Da Kai 2 bridge at Km 8+510) with reinforced concrete, bridge width 12 m.
The winning bidder is Viet Hoa Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company, the winning bid price is 120.9 billion VND, the investment capital is from the provincial budget. The construction project started in early 2024 and according to the contract, it will be completed in November 2025, but the contractor completed it earlier than planned.

Nam Thanh has 3 areas specializing in growing fruits: Me Pu (Ta Pua), Sung Nhon and Ro Mo. Previously, the road was bad, transportation was difficult, so the selling price of agricultural products and fruits was lower because transportation costs increased due to more difficult travel than in other areas.
