More than 36,000 customers had their power cut due to deep flooding.
According to the report of Khanh Hoa PC Control Department, as of the morning of November 19, floods have caused 62 load shedding incidents, affecting 505 transformer stations and causing 36,219 customers in the communes and wards of Do Vinh, Phan Rang, Dong Hai, Phuoc Hau, Ninh Phuoc, Thuan Bac, My Son, Phuoc Dinh... to have their power supply interrupted. The total lost capacity is estimated at 19.24 MW. Deeply flooded areas with strong currents forced the power force to urgently isolate the power supply to ensure absolute safety for the people.

As soon as the water receded, the regional power management units focused on human resources to review and check operating conditions, and partially restore power according to the allowable safety level. As of 10:00 a.m. on November 19, Khanh Hoa Power Company had restored power to 35,455 customers, equivalent to 476/505 transformer stations, reaching over 94% of the affected volume. Many areas that were previously completely isolated due to deep flooding have had their power safely restored.
At Du Long Industrial Park (Thuan Bac commune) - an area heavily affected by the flood - PC Khanh Hoa promptly coordinated with the investor and customers to handle the situation. Route 471DL was restored on November 17; Routes 472DL and 478DL were inspected and safely restored by customers on November 18, ensuring production maintenance for businesses.

Do not let electrical safety loss happen
There are still 764 customers in some villages in Phuoc Hau and Bac Ai communes and some individual loads without power due to local flooding and the water has not completely receded. The Electricity Company is continuing to arrange staff on duty 24/7, monitoring water levels, checking the scene and will restore power as soon as conditions are safe.

Mr. Le Vinh Tan - Head of the Control Department - PC Khanh Hoa said: The biggest priority in handling floods is electrical safety, both for employees and for the community. Therefore, although the need to restore electricity is very large, the electricity management teams will only restore electricity after a full inspection, ensuring the system is dry, the equipment is operating stably and people follow the safety recommendations after flooding.
In the face of the complicated weather situation, the company recommends that people do not arbitrarily turn on the electricity when their houses, wires, and electrical equipment are still wet; promptly notify the local electricity company if any unusual incidents are detected. The company also maintains a 24/7 storm duty regime, ready to quickly handle any situation to ensure safe and stable electricity supply for the people.
