On October 21, Cat Lai Traffic Police Team (Road and Railway Traffic Police Department (PC08) - Ho Chi Minh City Police) issued a record of administrative fines for many violations against Mr. PNT (34 years old, residing in An Phu ward, Thu Duc city).

Previously, at the end of August, a clip was circulated on social media about the incident in which the driver of car 51H blocked a 16-seat car on Mai Chi Tho street because he was not given the right of way and challenged it to "fight?".

The incident made many people angry and because it was their area of responsibility, Cat Lai Traffic Police Team stepped in to verify and handle the matter.

Traffic police identified the owner of the car with license plate 51H as Ms. TTTT (27 years old, living in District 12), but she said she had sold the car 3 months ago and only had a power of attorney. Ms. T. proactively contacted the car buyer to coordinate with the traffic police to resolve the issue.

At the end of August, Mr. PNT went to the Cat Lai Traffic Police Department to work. Mr. T. admitted that at 7:40 a.m. on August 28, he was driving a car with license plate 51H on the mixed road of Mai Chi Tho Street towards the Saigon River Tunnel. Mr. T. turned on his signal light to change direction to enter the straight lane, but a 16-seat car with license plate 61B carrying students from an international school coming from behind did not yield.

Mr. T. provided a 1-minute clip extracted from the car's dash cam at the time of the incident.

The Traffic Police Team also verified and in mid-September, invited Mr. PTĐ. (39 years old, from Binh Duong, driver of car with license plate 61B) to work. Mr. D. provided a 3-minute clip extracted from the car's dash cam.

From the verification basis, the traffic police determined that the driver of car 51H - Mr. PNT had committed an administrative violation in the field of road traffic.

When working with the traffic police for the second time, Mr. T. admitted that he was angry, could not control himself and was aware that his violation was dangerous when participating in traffic, committed not to repeat the offense, and accepted being handled according to regulations.

The Cat Lai Traffic Police Team issued a record of administrative violations against Mr. T. for 4 violations including: Driving a car to change lanes in an unauthorized place; stopping the car where there is a "No stopping and parking" sign; stopping the car not close to the right curb in the direction of travel; leaving the driver's seat when stopping the car with a total fine of 2 million VND.

Through this incident, Department PC08 recommends that people need to raise awareness of strictly complying with the Road Traffic Law, and at the same time practice "Traffic Culture" for their own safety and that of other road users.
