On the afternoon of December 29, teams/stations of the Traffic Police Department (PC08), Ho Chi Minh City Police Department simultaneously launched to ensure safety for people returning to their hometowns, going out, and traveling during the 2024 New Year.
PC08 Department said that this year's New Year holiday is from December 29, 2023 to January 1, 2024 (3 days), so the unit predicts that travel demand and traffic density on the routes will increase and there will be many complicated developments. Especially on the first and last days of the holiday.
Therefore, the entire traffic police force of Ho Chi Minh City has been mobilized to ensure traffic order and safety, creating favorable conditions for people to move. Ho Chi Minh City traffic police are present at hot spots, complicated areas, and areas with high risk of traffic congestion and jams to regulate and divert traffic.
At 3 p.m. the same day, dozens of officers and soldiers from Tan Tuc Traffic Police Station were on duty at intersections to regulate traffic. The traffic police also distributed 1,000 traffic propaganda leaflets, mineral water, and 50 helmets to the people.
Similarly, officers and soldiers of the Hang Xanh Traffic Police Team, Cat Lai Traffic Police Team, Nam Sai Gon Traffic Police Team, etc., in coordination with the Mobile Police and local police, were present at “hot” areas with high potential for traffic jams. In addition to organizing traffic flow and regulating traffic, the authorities also distributed free mineral water and distributed leaflets promoting traffic safety.
