Assigning staff to support ethnic and religious work for localities to operate two-level government

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will establish and send a working delegation of 34 officials and civil servants to strengthen localities to support and ensure the smooth operation of the two-level government, in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister.

This information was given by Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung at the Ministry's August working meeting, which took place on the afternoon of August 5.

At the meeting, the Minister comprehensively assessed the outstanding results that the Ministry and its affiliated units have achieved in the past time, and frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations that are still stuck in the process of performing tasks. On that basis, the Minister clearly identified the key points that need to be focused on directing and implementing drastically in the last 5 months of 2025 to improve the effectiveness of ethnic and religious work nationwide.

One of the important tasks directed by the Minister is to organize a review and complete synthesis of recommendations and proposals from 34 provinces and cities related to ethnic and religious affairs, to promptly report to the Politburo , the Secretariat, the Government and the Prime Minister, contributing to removing obstacles and promoting the effective and synchronous operation of the 2-level government model. At the same time, the Ministry will also organize a meeting with the leaders of the Departments of Ethnic Affairs and Religion of these 34 localities to strengthen coordination and unity in implementation.

In particular, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will establish and send a working group of 34 officials and civil servants to directly strengthen support for localities. The group's task is to closely coordinate with local authorities, provide professional guidance and ensure the effective and smooth operation of the two-level government apparatus, in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister .

The Minister requested that functional departments focus highly on preparation work, from professional training, sharing practical experiences to equipping the working group with situation handling skills; urgently compile a comprehensive "handbook", synthesizing common specific situations along with effective handling plans related to organizational structure, legal work, and ethnic and religious affairs at the grassroots level.

"The Ministry's Office needs to urgently summarize all difficulties in implementing the two-level government model according to reports from 34 provinces and cities to advise on timely handling. The Department of Financial Planning should study and propose policies and mechanisms for seconded officials," the Minister directed.
