Security experts from Zimperium have just discovered a trojan attack campaign targeting Android users through fake applications. This type of malware asks users to grant "full control" of the device through the Accessibility feature.
Once granted permission, the malware can track every action, steal personal information, and install other malware. A sophisticated attack technique called "overlay malware" creates fake interfaces over banking apps and apps containing authentication codes.
Users think they are operating normally, but in fact they are entering information into a fake interface built by hackers. All data such as accounts, passwords and 2FA codes will be sent to the hacker's server without the user's knowledge. Google has increased security, but if users still carelessly grant permissions to strange apps, the device is very vulnerable to intrusion.
Experts recommend: deny any accessibility requests if you don't understand them, and immediately remove suspicious apps from your device. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Many scams from AI technology are on the rise | News 141
