Vietnam National Administration of Tourism surveys the development of community tourism products in Dien Bien

On November 29, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration delegation led by Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy organized a survey program on some localities with potential for community tourism development in Muong Lay commune, Muong Pon commune and Dien Bien Phu ward, Dien Bien province. The delegation also included representatives of local authorities and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien.

In Muong Lay, the working delegation surveyed the spiritual tourist destination of Linh Ung Muong Lay Pagoda; visited the area of ​​the three-river junction at the source of the Da River, surveyed the potential of tourism products in the Son La hydroelectric reservoir area, learned about the area of ​​black tiled stilt houses typical of the ethnic minorities; experienced local cuisine at the Muong Lay homestay; visited and experienced at the White Ban Flower Cooperative, learned about the production process of "Khau xen" and "Chi chop" cakes typical of the indigenous people.

In Dien Bien Phu, the delegation visited and learned about the lives of indigenous people; learned about typical products, local OCOP products; and inspected the work at Phieng Loi community tourism site.

Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy shared that in order for tourists to come to community tourism destinations, it is necessary to ensure that tourists are provided with essential services, such as food, accommodation, and sightseeing. Localities and destinations must integrate the introduction of craft villages, typical products, and OCOP products to increase tourist attraction and enhance the tourist experience; introduce the unique culture of the Mong and Thai ethnic groups to tourists... "To do this, it is necessary to clearly define product packages and cooperate with travel agencies to introduce them to tourists. We must restore original relics and tell stories in the products..." - Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy emphasized.
