Airports are required to deploy plans to prevent storms and floods, clear waterways, and protect structures and vehicles.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires agencies and units to be on duty 24/7 and strictly comply with storm and tropical depression response procedures in civil aviation activities.

For Van Don International Airport and airports under the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) located in the affected area, ACV must preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect infrastructure and communication systems, promptly detect and handle damage, and ensure safety of works, stations and flight operations.

Airports are required to deploy plans to prevent storms and floods, clear waterways, protect structures, vehicles, and equipment to minimize damage and quickly stabilize passenger service operations.

At ports under construction (Cat Bi, Vinh, Dong Hoi), investors must require contractors to urgently deploy response measures, determine technical stopping points when storms make landfall, and prepare conditions to overcome incidents to ensure construction safety.

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) is assigned to direct aviation meteorological facilities to improve the quality of forecast and warning bulletins and provide timely weather information to users.

Airlines and flight operations units must closely monitor storm developments, proactively adjust plans, and change flight schedules when necessary to ensure safety.

The Northern Airport Authority is responsible for supervising the response implementation at relevant ports, maintaining smooth communication with the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue and relevant agencies, and being ready to handle any arising situations.

Due to the complicated developments of super typhoon Ragasa (storm No. 9), Vietnamese airlines said they will adjust the operation plans of some flights on September 23 to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Vietnam Airlines flights between Vietnam and Northeast Asia will be rerouted to avoid the storm’s impact area. The airline will also cancel flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong (China) on September 23.

In addition, many domestic and international flights on September 23 may be affected by storm Ragasa.

Vietjet Air also announced the suspension of 4 flights: VJ8892/VJ8893 Da Nang - Macao (China) - Da Nang; VJ876/VJ877 Ho Chi Minh City - Hong Kong (China) - Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, a number of other flights were affected.
