Storm No. 3 has left behind extremely serious consequences for people and property in the northern provinces and cities. Currently, the work to overcome the consequences caused by the storm and its circulation is still being actively implemented by localities, in which special attention is paid to the search for missing people and stabilizing people's lives.
Responding to the Appeal Letter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, units, localities and many individuals in the city joined hands to support and help people affected by floods.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that right at the Relief Launch Ceremony of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City registered and deposited 120 billion VND into the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee account. At the same time, the organization launched a campaign among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the city to join hands to contribute to support people in the northern provinces and cities affected by natural disasters. Up to now, 170 tons of goods have been transported to the northern provinces, including: rice, clothes, drinking water, medicine, food of all kinds, etc.
Present at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to send his family's sympathy to the people of the northern provinces affected by natural disasters, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau (representing the family of Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho, former Chairman of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam) came to donate and support the amount of 10 million VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau, through the images and information from the press, he could not hold back his tears. The consequences of storm No. 3 were enormous, with pain and loss covering the entire villages in the northern mountainous provinces. "It is truly extremely painful," Mr. Chau said emotionally.
With the desire to share a little of his feelings with the people of the Northern provinces, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau went to the office of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City to donate some money to help the people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. "The reason I took a part of my family's money and a part of my pension to support the people of the provinces affected by floods is because my father - the late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho, when he was the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and in other positions, always thought of the people, the disadvantaged in society," said Mr. Chau.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his sincere thanks to the family of Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho, as well as the units, agencies and people of the city who contributed to and supported the people of the North. “The noble gestures of all people turning to the North at this time are extremely precious, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance in times of trouble of the Vietnamese people. We hope that the people of the Northern provinces and cities will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives,” said Mr. Son.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Binh, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chi Thanh Industrial Construction Joint Stock Company and Dai Nghia Industrial Mechanical Company Limited, said that in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with images reported by the press about the consequences of storm No. 3, the company itself as well as its officers, employees and workers felt very sorry for the people of some provinces and cities in the North.
“With the Vietnamese tradition of “helping each other”, the company’s leadership and all staff and employees wish to share some of their efforts to help the people of the North overcome the consequences and soon overcome difficulties and pain and loss,” Mr. Binh shared.
Mr. Vo Van Thien, Head of the Southern Working Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, informed that storm No. 3 and its aftermath swept across the northern provinces of our country, causing extremely serious damage to people's lives, infrastructure and property. Truly, people across the country are heartbroken by these irreparable losses.
“It is truly touching to realize that just over 10 days after the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Relief Mobilization Committee issued a call for the whole society to contribute to support the people in the northern provinces affected by storms and floods, they have received 1,628 billion VND (not including the amount of money and goods that localities have mobilized and organized direct visits). It can be said that with the spirit of “mutual love and support”, our compatriots in the country, as well as our overseas compatriots; in just a short time, have contributed a large amount of money to help the people in the areas affected by storms and floods”, Mr. Vo Van Thien shared.
According to Mr. Vo Van Thien, those noble acts continue to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity "many silks cover the mirror/ People in the same country must love each other" which has truly spread strongly to every citizen.
Mr. Thien also said that the work of cleaning up, overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, and rebuilding a stable life for the affected people will take some more time; therefore, the Southern Working Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front are always ready to receive all contributions from everyone in the coming time and commit to fully reporting to the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Relief Mobilization Committee.
