The Iberian War

(PLVN) - The 2025 Nations League final is a "battle" between neighbors.

Spain and Portugal will face off in the Nations League final at 2 AM on June 9th (Vietnam time). This could be seen as an "internal conflict" on the Iberian Peninsula to claim the European crown. The glory could go to the Selecao for two consecutive years.

In 2024, Spain won the EURO championship by defeating England, and this year they have a chance to win it again as they face Portugal in the final. Spain's current strength is undeniable, but on the other side, their neighbors, Ronaldo and his teammates, have stated that it won't be easy for the young talent Yamal to win the trophy.

Yamal was even less than 18 months old when Ronaldo won his first Ballon d'Or. The young Spanish talent is a strong contender, especially after his outstanding performance against France in the semi-finals.

Like Portugal, Spain now has a second chance to lift the trophy, after their victory over Croatia in the 2023 final. But to do so, they must win against their neighbors Portugal in the Iberian Peninsula derby.

This is the final between two of the most aesthetically pleasing teams in Europe. There are so many talented players, but there's only one trophy. Ronaldo winning would be a record for him, especially at his retirement age, while Yamal winning would be a promising start to his youth.
