During her years as an administrative staff member in the Staff Department of Regiment 22, Corps 4 (now Brigade 22, Armored Corps), Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thi Minh Theu developed a spirit of dedication and enthusiasm. Therefore, upon retirement in 2010, in addition to caring for her family, Ms. Theu remains an active member and leader in the activities of local Veterans' Associations, Women's Associations, and Red Cross Societies, embodying the spirit of "veteran but not outdated," always innovating and adapting to the modern pace of life.

She mobilized many officials, members, family members, and former comrades to participate in blood donation. According to her, surgeries and treatments cannot be successfully performed without donated blood. Blood donation stimulates the body to regenerate new blood and can give hope to critically ill patients. To date, Ms. Thêu has donated blood 18 times; in the blood donation group she mobilized, some individuals have donated up to 28 times. In recognition of these achievements, she was awarded a certificate of merit and a commemorative medal by the People's Committee of Biên Hòa City (formerly).

In addition, Ms. Thieu decided to register for organ donation and encouraged another female soldier from her former unit to also register for organ donation after her death; she also encouraged her granddaughter to donate her hair to child cancer patients. For her, whether serving in the military or retired, she always wanted to dedicate herself to service; while alive, she wanted to do good things for society, and when she passed away, she wanted to give life to others. The 58-year-old female veteran is always cheerful and optimistic, spreading positive energy to everyone. Every day, she participates in folk dance practice at the Song Long Club ( thuộc the Dong Nai Provincial Gymnastics Federation) to improve her health, build a happy, healthy, and useful lifestyle, and contribute to reviving the exercise movement in the locality. Currently, she is actively practicing a group performance forming the national flag to celebrate National Day on September 2nd.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Can, Head of the Veterans Association Branch in Ward 8, Long Binh Commune, said: Veteran Tran Thi Minh Theu always upholds the qualities of a soldier of Uncle Ho in everyday life, serving as an exemplary role model. Over the past time, she has made many contributions to building strong Party branches, Veterans Association branches, and other organizations, spreading the spirit of mutual support and dedication to the community.
