Mai Anh is the person who turns data into a bridge connecting people in flood-affected areas.
When a line of code can save a life
On the night of October 7, the influence of storm Matmo caused prolonged heavy rain, causing serious flooding in many areas in Thai Nguyen. On social networks, many posts and groups of people asking for rescue and finding relatives in Thai Nguyen caused chaos. Witnessing this situation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Anh - a former student of the 7th course of Business Administration,FPT University, Hanoi campus, quickly contacted Mr. Tu Tat Huan (29 years old - former colleague) and Mr. Long Dang (technology engineer) to create an additional stream of emergency rescue information focusing on Thai Nguyen.
Thanks to the data processing system from a project of Mr. Tat Huan, they quickly customized the logic flows, upgraded the server, added filters and integrated AI to extract and eliminate duplicates. That same night, Ms. Mai Anh performed vibe coding and processed the API parts.
From there, the thongtincuuho.org platform, which focuses on rescue data for Thai Nguyen, was born in just 4 hours. The system operates on the principle of automatically collecting data (crawl) from groups and posts asking for help, then filtering, analyzing, and synthesizing them into a visual heatmap so that the rescue team can easily identify areas needing support.
Instead of information being scattered everywhere, the platform helps people send distress messages to the same channel, saving time, reducing errors and increasing relief efficiency.
In less than 24 hours after its launch, the thongtincuuho.org website has attracted nearly 3,000 users and has been widely shared on many social networking platforms. Each point in need of relief displays the address, describes the specific situation and is updated in real time, helping rescue teams filter locations, prioritize support according to the level of urgency and quickly reach.
The platform is continuing to update more information on relief needs from localities affected by storms and floods such as: Bac Giang , Lang Son, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, and Hanoi.

The team's rescue digital platform is updated in real time and expanded to more localities within 24 hours of launch.
Data connecting people in flood-affected areas
At first it was just a small initiative in the middle of the night, but when the post introducing the system was shared by many large pages, Ms. Mai Anh and Mr. Huan's platform quickly became an important gathering point for rescue information.
"We chose a simple approach, making the most of technology to create the fastest impact in emergency situations. We connected more people to synthesize, analyze data and coordinate operations with relief units," said Ms. Mai Anh.
Mai Anh had previously participated in a relief project during the COVID-19 pandemic, so she understood the feeling of both anxiety and urgency when every minute could be an opportunity to save people. "When I read the messages asking for help, I felt really heartbroken. But that was the motivation to work faster and more accurately," she shared.
The project of Ms. Mai Anh and Mr. Tat Huan is not only a timely solution, but also demonstrates the creativity and social responsibility of young people who know how to use technology to create real value.
"You don't need to be a software engineer or programmer, just understand how data works and want to help, we can still make a difference," Mai Anh added.
