22,000 train tickets for the Lunar New Year of the Horse were purchased on the first day of sale.

The Vietnam Railways Corporation said that after just over 4 hours of selling train tickets for the 2026 Lunar New Year on all channels, 22,000 train tickets were sold, earning revenue of 44 billion VND.

At 8:00 a.m. this morning, September 20, the railway industry opened sales of train tickets for the Lunar New Year 2026 on all channels, including: website: www.dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, vetauonline.vn, giare.vetau.vn; at stations, ticket sales points and official agents; applications, e-wallets: Momo, VNPay , ZaloPay, ViettelPay, banking applications (Smart Banking), train ticket sales apps on mobile devices... and Saigon station switchboard 19001520, Hanoi station 19000109.

On the first day of sale, the railway industry recorded that the sale of Tet train tickets went smoothly, without any incidents causing difficulties for buyers. Each passenger can buy a maximum of 10 train tickets/way. Passengers who have purchased sleeper or seat tickets can buy additional seat tickets for children (from 6 to under 10 years old); each adult ticket can only be purchased with one additional child seat ticket, arranged to use the same seat as the adult.

During the 2026 Lunar New Year transportation period, passengers buying long-distance tickets (10 days or more) with a distance of over 900km will receive a 5-15% discount; passengers buying tickets for trains departing from Saigon station on February 15 and traveling 1,000km or more will receive a 3% discount; passengers buying group tickets of 11 people or more will receive a 2% to 12% discount; passengers buying round-trip tickets will receive a 5% discount on return tickets; students will receive a 10% to 20% discount.

The railway industry recommends that passengers should go directly to the train station system and ticket agents nationwide to buy tickets, bring identification documents and documents proving eligibility to buy discounted train tickets, and not buy train tickets through "ticket brokers".

Passengers can check their e-ticket by accessing the website: dsvn.vn, go to "CHECK TICKET" section, fill in all information, compare information on the system and on the boarding pass.
