Da Nang elevates its brand as 'event city' through fireworks and film festivals

The People's Committee of Da Nang City summarized the 3rd Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) and Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) in 2025, affirming that these two events continue to contribute to enhancing the brand of 'event city'.

On August 29, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a conference to review the organization of the 3rd Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) and the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) in 2025.

The report at the conference stated: the organization of the two major events was carried out methodically, professionally and on schedule; there was close coordination between forces, promptly handling arising situations.

Thanks to that, security and safety are absolutely guaranteed, no incidents occur; tasks on environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, healthcare , communication and price control of accommodation, food and beverage, parking services... are synchronously deployed, creating a good image in the hearts of tourists.

DIFF 2025 is considered not only a fireworks festival but also the largest “cultural - tourism - art ecosystem” ever. Lasting 1.5 months, this is the longest fireworks festival season, gathering 10 international fireworks teams from many countries with long-standing performance traditions such as Finland, Poland, Canada, China, Portugal, England, Korea, Italy... and 2 teams representing the host Vietnam.

The highlight of DIFF 2025 is the application of augmented reality (AR) technology in the performances, bringing a new multi-sensory experience to the audience. The sideline art programs are also rich and attractive, creating a strong spreading effect on social networks, with nearly 1 million views and more than 31,000 interactions.

Within 45 days, accommodation establishments served more than 1.88 million visitors (up 26% over the same period in 2024); revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel services reached about VND 5,600 billion (up 45% over the same period last year).

The 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) also continued to affirm its reputation, expand its scale and improve its professional quality. There were 106 films selected, an increase of 43 films compared to the previous edition, many of which had won international awards or were premiered.

A total of 184 screenings were held at cinema complexes, issuing more than 27,000 free tickets, becoming a film festival, creating a space for exchange and professional meetings between domestic and foreign filmmakers, actors, and directors.

The 3rd DANAFF was also introduced at major international film festivals such as Busan, Cannes and spread strongly in the country. The team of 150 young, dynamic volunteers with multilingual communication skills left a good impression.

At the closing ceremony, the People's Committee of Da Nang City awarded certificates of merit to 22 groups and 16 individuals with achievements in organizing DIFF 2025 and 10 groups and 6 individuals with achievements in consulting and organizing the 3rd DANAFF.

Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed that DIFF and DANAFF have become the city's own brands, contributing to enhancing Da Nang's position on the national and regional cultural and tourism map. These are important activities in the roadmap to build Da Nang into a key cultural industrial center, competitive in the region and deeply participating in the global value chain.

The event received direction from the Central leaders, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Da Nang City Party Committee, and the support of Sun Group, the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development Association, departments, branches, and localities...

Da Nang City will also soon prepare for DIFF 2026, the 4th DANAFF, and continuously improve the quality and scale to continue affirming the brand of "event city".
