According to data from online booking platform Agoda, Da Nang became the most popular destination for American tourists in January 2025, surpassing famous tourist cities such as Tokyo (Japan) and Bangkok (Thailand).
Previously, in 2024, the top 5 most popular destinations on Agoda for American travelers included Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Seoul (South Korea), Manila (Philippines) and Hong Kong (China).

However, in the first month of 2025, Da Nang rose to the number 1 position, affirming its strong attraction on the international tourism map.
The sudden increase in accommodation searches by American tourists on Agoda is not only a positive signal for Da Nang's tourism industry but also shows the prospect of strong recovery and development of Vietnam's tourism in 2025.
Not only Da Nang, Vietnam in general also recorded increasing interest from American tourists. In 2024, Vietnam became the most searched destination on Agoda by American tourists.
Specifically, the number of accommodation searches from the US to Vietnam in 2024 increased by 174% compared to 2023. Vietnam also rose from 4th place in 2023 to become the most interested destination for US tourists in 2024.
Currently, the US is Vietnam's second largest international tourist market, behind only South Korea.
According to the assessment of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the growth of this market is completely consistent with the orientation of the Vietnamese Government , which aims to welcome 1.3 million American tourists by 2028, making the US one of the top 3 largest tourism markets in Vietnam.
