Hai Phong climate characteristics

Hai Phong's weather is typical of the weather in Northern Vietnam: hot and humid, lots of rain, with four distinct seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. From November to April of the following year, the climate is cold and dry in winter, with the temperature at 20.3°C; from May to October, the climate is cool and humid in summer, with lots of rain, with the average temperature in summer being around 32.5°C.

Average rainfall is from 1,600 - 1,800 mm/year. Because it is located close to the sea, in winter, Hai Phong is 1 ^o C warmer and in summer 1 ^o C cooler than Hanoi . The average temperature during the year is from 23°C - 26 ^o C, the hottest month (June, July) can reach 44 ^o C and the coldest month (January, February) can drop below 5 ^o C. Average humidity is about 80-85%, highest in July, August, September and lowest in January, December.
