On the morning of October 14, the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires (ACBA) in collaboration with the University of Belgrano (UBE) co-organized a workshop on relations between ASEAN and Argentina.
Attending the event were Mr. Pablo Dons, Director of the Faculty of International Relations and Political Science; Professor Nadia Radulovich, and many students from UBE and several other universities in the area.
As President of ACBA, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand Krit Tankanarat delivered the opening speech, highlighting the role of ACBA in connecting academia and business and expanding Argentina-ASEAN cooperation.
After a brief introduction, the Ambassadors entered two rounds of questions and answers. The first focused on each country's policies, the second on regional issues.

Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet spoke at the event. |
Responding to questions about the implementation of new reforms and their political and economic impacts, Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet emphasized the continuity between previous reforms and current programs: Previous reforms have helped Vietnam maintain high growth, integrate deeply and rise to the middle-income group.
On that basis, current reforms - aimed at enhancing institutional efficiency, promoting digital transformation, improving the business environment, and developing human resources - are designed to continue this trajectory, aiming at improving productivity, sustainable development, and gradually moving towards the goal of high income.
In the second round of discussions on regional issues, questions focused on topics related to cooperation prospects, outstanding challenges, inter-regional relations and how ASEAN responds to current economic and political developments.
Regarding the US tariff measures, Ambassador Ngo Minh Nguyet emphasized Vietnam's practical approach and dialogue based on mutual respect.
Ms. Ngo Minh Nguyet said that the increasingly positive foundation of Vietnam-US relations - from constantly upgrading the cooperation framework, expanding economic cooperation to enhancing supply chain transparency - has helped the two sides quickly identify problems, clarify rules and coordinate effective verification steps to protect legitimate trade.
Thanks to that, Vietnam can proactively coordinate with its partners in ASEAN to both respond to short-term impacts and maintain supply chain stability and business confidence.
