The 19th Congress of Ha Tinh Trade Union opened its first session.

The 19th Congress of Ha Tinh Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term started working today and closed tomorrow (September 26) at the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center.

Overview of the congress.

On the morning of September 25, the 19th Congress of Ha Tinh Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term opened its first session with the participation of 250 official delegates representing more than 70,000 union members in the whole province.

Attending the congress were representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor . On the side of Ha Tinh province, there were Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Tran Nhat Tan and leaders of departments, branches, and localities.

At the first working session, the congress elected the presidium, secretariat and the delegate qualification review committee; approved the agenda and working regulations of the congress; reported on the delegate qualification review; and approved the congress personnel plan.

The Congress also heard a report summarizing comments on amendments and supplements to the draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; a report summarizing comments and supplements to the political report of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; and a report reviewing the Executive Committee of the 18th Provincial Labor Confederation for the 2018-2023 term.

According to the report, the 18th Provincial Labor Federation Executive Committee for the 2018-2023 term has 39 members. During the term, due to changes, the Executive Committee elected 9 additional Executive Committee members and 1 Standing Committee member.

During the term, the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee focused on directing, organizing the study and dissemination of directives and resolutions in a serious, methodical and scientific manner; issued many resolutions on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions.

Along with that, coordinate with agencies, units, and enterprises to carry out activities related to trade union work and workers' movements; participate in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Van Trong reported on the review of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, term XVIII, 2018 - 2023.

The targets of the 18th Congress Resolution for the 2018-2023 term were basically achieved and exceeded, in which, some targets achieved high results such as: subsidies, visits to union members in difficult circumstances (392%); union member development (150%), establishment of grassroots trade unions (110%); enterprises with trade unions signing collective labor agreements (108%); periodic health check-ups for employees (115%); union members and employees receiving training to improve their qualifications (193%)...

Delegates attending the congress also focused on discussing, sharing some results, good practices and proposing solutions to develop the workers' and laborers' movement and improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in the new period.
