The 19th Congress of the Ha Tinh Provincial Trade Union opens its first session.

The 19th Congress of the Ha Tinh Provincial Trade Union, for the term 2023-2028, begins its work today and will conclude tomorrow (September 26th) at the Provincial Cultural and Film Center.

On the morning of September 25th, the 19th Congress of the Ha Tinh Provincial Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term opened its first session with the participation of 250 official delegates representing more than 70,000 union members throughout the province.

The congress was attended by representatives from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor . Representing Ha Tinh province were the Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Tran Nhat Tan, and leaders from various departments, agencies, and localities.

At the first session, the congress elected the presidium, the secretariat, and the committee for verifying delegates' credentials; approved the program and working regulations of the congress; reviewed the report on the verification of delegates' credentials; and approved the personnel plan for the congress.

The Congress also heard a summary report of comments and suggestions for amending and supplementing the draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; a summary report of comments and suggestions for supplementing the political report of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; and a report reviewing the performance of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, 18th term, 2018-2023.

According to the report, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Union, 18th term (2018-2023), has 39 members. During the term, due to changes, the Executive Committee elected 9 additional members and 1 additional member to the Standing Committee.

The congress voted on several issues at its first session.

During its term, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions Executive Committee focused on directing and organizing the study and understanding of directives and resolutions in a serious, systematic, and scientific manner; and issued many resolutions on developing union membership and establishing grassroots trade unions.

In addition, coordinate with agencies, units, and businesses to implement activities related to trade union work and the workers' movement; participate in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions Nguyen Van Trong presented the report reviewing the performance of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, 18th term, 2018-2023.

The targets of the Resolution of the 18th Congress for the 2018-2023 term were basically met and exceeded, with some targets achieving high results such as: subsidies and visits to union members in difficult circumstances (392%); union membership development (150%), establishment of grassroots trade unions (110%); enterprises with trade union organizations signing collective labor agreements (108%); periodic health check-ups for workers (115%); union members and workers receiving training to improve their skills (193%)...

Delegates attending the congress also focused on discussing and sharing some successful results and best practices, and proposing solutions to develop the workers' movement and improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in the new era.

Ms. Pham Thi Phuong, Chairwoman of the Trade Union at the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, presented a paper on the implementation of women's work at the unit.

Some presentations contributed excellent ideas and heartfelt suggestions, such as: the role of trade unions in negotiating and signing collective labor agreements in enterprises; experiences in women's work in agencies and enterprises; improving the quality of trade union officials; and building Ha Tinh College of Technology into a reputable and high-quality vocational training institution...

This afternoon, the congress held its official working session with important contents such as: hearing the political report of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, 18th term, presented to the 19th Congress of the Ha Tinh Provincial Trade Union, term 2023-2028; electing the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions for the term 2023-2028...

Before the opening of this morning's working session, the delegates attending the congress visited the Memorial Area commemorating President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Ha Tinh (Ha Tinh City) to lay wreaths and offer incense in respectful remembrance and report on their achievements.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates attending the congress expressed their profound respect and boundless gratitude for President Ho Chi Minh's immense contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, and to the birth, development, and growth of the Vietnamese workers' movement and trade union organization.
