( Bqp.vn ) – At the invitation of General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Cambodia, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, attend the meeting between the three Ministers of National Defense of Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia and witness the joint search and rescue exercise between the armies of the three countries of Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia from November 23 to 26.

On the morning of November 24, the welcoming ceremony for General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, chaired by General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Cambodia.

Exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations, are valued; forms and mechanisms of cooperation are increasingly diverse, effective and substantive. Many historic defense diplomacy events have been held for the first time, such as: The first Vietnam-Cambodia border defense friendship exchange (2022), The first Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos border defense friendship exchange (2023). Cooperation in the political and ideological fields has been enhanced; The awareness of the two countries' military personnel, especially the younger generation, about the history, significance and importance of the Vietnam-Cambodia solidarity relationship has been constantly enhanced, contributing to defeating the plots of hostile forces to distort and divide the relationship between the two countries and the two armies. Effective cooperation in managing and protecting the land and sea borders has made an important contribution to strengthening security and order in the border areas of the two countries. Cooperation in training, searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during the war has continued to be promoted and achieved many substantive results. The two sides have closely coordinated and supported each other at multilateral forums, mechanisms and international events organized by each side, especially during Vietnam's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020 and Cambodia's ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2022.
In the coming time, the two sides agreed to bring bilateral defense cooperation into greater depth, effectiveness and substance, continuing to consolidate its position as one of the important pillars in the Vietnam - Cambodia relationship.
