On the afternoon of August 5, the People's Committee of Cat Hai town, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city confirmed that the authorities of Cat Hai district are actively coordinating to search for three fishermen who went missing when their wooden fishing boat sank and drifted into local waters.

Through investigation and verification, it was initially determined that the sunken wooden fishing boat with license plate number QN-3457 belonged to a family from Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province.
At around 9am on August 3, three members of a family, including a husband, wife and son, went fishing in the waters of Cat Hai district on a fishing boat. At 6am on August 4, family members lost contact with the fishermen on the boat.
A representative of the People's Committee of Cat Hai town, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city said that local authorities have determined the location of the sunken ship. However, due to strong winds and waves, access is very difficult.
Along with efforts to search for the three missing fishermen, Cat Hai district authorities widely informed fishing vessels exploiting seafood in local waters to coordinate the search as well as provide information to local authorities .
