Ha Tinh proactively discharges reservoir overflow before forecast of heavy rain

(Baohatinh.vn) - In order to proactively respond to forecasts of heavy rain due to the influence of storm No. 3, some reservoirs in Ha Tinh province will be regulated to release overflow.

Song Rac Lake and Da Han Lake will have overflow discharge to regulate water from 8am on July 22 to proactively respond to forecasts of heavy rain.

Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company, Tran Manh Cuong, said: According to the forecast of the Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from July 22 to 23, due to the influence of storm No. 3, the province will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places. Rainfall in the southern part of the province is generally 50 - 100 mm, in the north from 100 - 200 mm, in some places over 250 mm.

From July 24 to 25, the southern region of the province is likely to continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some places having very heavy rain.

To proactively respond to forecasts of heavy rain and ensure safety for works and downstream areas, the unit has regulated the overflow of Song Rac Lake and Da Han Lake.

The water level of Da Han Lake is currently at 36.08 m. The lake was overflowed from 8:00 a.m. on July 22 with a flow rate of 5 - 70 m3/ second .

The water level of Song Rac Lake is at 21.94 m. The lake was overflowed from 8:00 a.m. on July 22 with a flow rate of 5 - 50 m3/ second .

The time to end the overflow of the lakes will be based on weather conditions and lake water levels.

Also according to Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited, some small capacity reservoirs with free overflow, such as: Ma Leng Lake, Dap Hoi Lake, Nha Lao Lake, Khe Dai Lake, Dap Ho Lake, Con Troi Lake..., the water level has reached the overflow threshold and has flowed over the overflow.
