Meanwhile, traders in Binh Phuoc (Dong Nai province) continued to trade at 145,000 VND/kg; unchanged from yesterday.

According to the Vietnam Commodity Exchange (MXV), from the second quarter of 2024, domestic pepper prices will enter a period of strong increases. In May and June, pepper prices increased by more than VND50,000/kg, reaching a peak of VND180,000/kg, the highest in the past 10 years. This price increase shows that supply is in short supply compared to global consumption demand.
The main reason is that major producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, India and Indonesia have all reduced production by 10-20% due to unfavorable weather, while consumption demand is still increasing by 3-4% per year, especially in South Asia and the Middle East. The imbalance of supply and demand has pushed up pepper prices and created pressure on prolonged shortages.
Entering 2025, pepper prices will remain high thanks to reduced inventories and the impact of new trade policies. The US imposition of a 40% tax on transit goods has caused domestic enterprises to prioritize the domestic market, helping pepper prices remain stable at around 150,000 - 151,000 VND/kg.
Experts predict that pepper prices will stabilize or increase slightly by 0-5% in early November compared to late October. If supply continues to be limited, prices may increase more sharply. In the long term, Vietnam will still play a dominant role in international prices, helping growers and businesses maintain stable profits.
Pepper price today in world market
In the world market, based on quotes from exporting enterprises and export prices in countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the latest pepper prices as of October 31, 2025 as follows:
Indonesia’s Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged at $7,211 per tonne. Similarly, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged at $10,061 per tonne.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged at USD 6,100/mt.
Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged at $9,375 per tonne. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price also remained unchanged at $12,400 per tonne.
Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged, of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l remains unchanged at 6,400 USD/ton; the price of 550 gr/l remains unchanged at 6,600 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged at USD 9,050/ton.

World pepper prices remained unchanged today, marking the third consecutive session of sideways movement. In the context of increasingly serious crop diseases and climate change, maintaining pepper productivity and quality is facing many difficulties. Experts predict that pepper prices will remain high due to reduced supply while global demand is recovering.
According to the report of the International Pepper Community (IPC), the last week of October recorded mixed developments among countries. India was a bright spot when the Rupee increased by 1%, helping domestic and export pepper prices increase for 3 consecutive weeks.
In contrast, the US saw pepper prices fall for the third consecutive week due to a weakening dollar and rising inflation. Indonesia and Sri Lanka kept prices stable, while Brazil, Cambodia and China (white pepper) remained unchanged. Malaysia saw a slight decline, except for white pepper exports, which remained unchanged.
In India, Brazilian pepper is flooding the domestic market at just Rs 750 per kg, equivalent to $6,000 per tonne, much lower than the $8,000 per tonne of domestic pepper. This cheap supply has put pressure on consumption in the Tamil Nadu, Wayanad and Coorg regions.
