Construction of Duc Son bridge connecting the two banks of Lam river, Nghe An

The investment project to build Duc Son bridge in Vinh Tuong commune, Anh Son commune has just been approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province and has a plan to select a contractor. According to the Decision, the bridge is built with the goal of completing the vital traffic route across Lam river, contributing to connecting infrastructure between the two banks, serving the needs of travel, production, rescue - rescue, promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the western region of Nghe An.

Duc Son Bridge is located in Vinh Tuong and Anh Son communes ( Nghe An ), a large bridge made of permanent reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, designed with a load capacity of HL-93. The bridge is 12 m wide, with a 11 m wide road section, 10 spans, and a level IV navigable river.

The bridge consists of 10 girder spans, the bridge surface is covered with asphalt concrete. The approach roads at both ends of the bridge have a total length of 3,258 m (including the bridge).

The project aims to build a bridge across the Lam River from National Highway 7 to Provincial Road 534 in Duc Son Commune, to connect the traffic infrastructure between communes and towns on the right and left banks of the Lam River, creating favorable conditions for people's travel and production and rescue work during the rainy and stormy season. Along with that, strengthening intra-regional and inter-regional connections with neighboring communes, contributing to perfecting the traffic network, promoting socio- economic development in the area.

The road section at both ends of the bridge has Khe Sung 2 bridge, located across Khe Sung in Vinh Tuong commune, Nghe An province. The bridge consists of a girder span, each span's cross-section consists of 5 girder slabs, and an embankment. The route section has a 12m roadbed, an embankment, a calculated load for a 10-ton vehicle, and an asphalt concrete road surface.

The project has a total investment of 300 billion VND, including: compensation, support and resettlement costs of about 38.1 billion VND; construction costs of 225.2 billion VND; project management of 3.4 billion VND; consulting of 11.5 billion VND; other costs of 4.408 billion VND and reserves of 17.397 billion VND.

The expected implementation time is 4 years from the commencement date. When completed, Duc Son Bridge will become a key traffic project, creating new development momentum for Vinh Tuong commune, Anh Son commune and the Western Nghe An region, contributing to the completion of the inter-regional traffic infrastructure network, expanding the development space and connecting the midland and mountainous areas with the Nghe An plain.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to be responsible for organizing the implementation of the next steps and selecting contractors according to the approved contractor selection plan, ensuring compliance with current regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Sang - Secretary of Anh Son commune said that currently, Nghe An Department of Construction (investor) is implementing the plan to select a contractor to implement the Duc Son Bridge Construction Investment Project across Lam River.

The form of contractor selection is open bidding via the Internet. The time to start organizing contractor selection is online and the time to select the contractor is the third quarter of 2025.
