By the end of October 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports reached about 206,000 tons, earning 1.4 billion USD. Although output decreased slightly compared to the same period last year, export value increased sharply thanks to the average selling price remaining at a high level. This reflects the stability and good growth potential of the pepper industry, even when the world market is still volatile.
In October 2025 alone, Vietnam exported about 20,000 tons of pepper worth 132 million USD. Compared to the previous month, output and value both decreased slightly by 2.8% and 3.1%, respectively. However, compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by 7.6% and value increased by 9.2%, showing that the positive recovery trend is continuing in the industry.
In the first 10 months of the year, although pepper export output decreased by nearly 6%, the value increased by nearly 26% compared to the same period in 2024. The main reason was the sharp increase in average export price, reaching 6,774 USD/ton. In October, the price remained at 6,651 USD/ton, almost unchanged from September and still 1.6% higher than the same period last year.
Experts say the pepper industry’s success this year comes from shifting to deep processing, improving product quality and expanding export markets. With global supply tightening and demand remaining stable, pepper prices are likely to remain high. Vietnam is expected to surpass the 1.5 billion USD export turnover mark in 2025 and continue to maintain its leading position in the world in pepper.
