Checking the implementation of agricultural support policies in Long Chu and Hao Duoc communes

On November 6, Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment Truong Tan Dat and the working delegation conducted a survey and inspection of the implementation of policies on linking production and consumption of agricultural products and the situation of building and developing cooperative economy and cooperatives in 2025 in Long Chu and Hao Duoc communes.

Reporting to the working group, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Long Chu Commune, Ho Thanh Phong, said that the commune is implementing a project to link the high-quality rice production chain of Long Vinh Agricultural Service Cooperative. The total project support budget is 600 million VND. However, due to fragmented and small-scale production activities, many households are no longer participating.

Currently, Long Chu commune has 3 cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector, 2 crop farms and 7 livestock farms applying science and technology according to good agricultural practices and biotechnology, thanks to which, the situation of diseases and pests on crops and livestock is ensured.

However, the consumption of products from farms in the area is mainly through traders (except for farms that process for businesses). There are no contracts linking production and product consumption, so prices are unstable and unsustainable.

Working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Environment worked with the People's Committee of Hao Duoc commune

Vice Chairman of Hao Duoc Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Tai said that in the period of 2020-2025, the old localities (including Tri Binh commune, Hao Duoc commune and An Co commune) will focus on implementing production linkage projects applying VietGAP process and policies to support rice growing land according to regulations.

There are 3 active cooperatives in the commune, 2 agricultural cooperatives with production contracts with enterprises and 17 farms, mainly in the livestock sector. The consumption of agricultural products still depends on market factors, not really ensuring profits for farmers.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Truong Tan Dat spoke at the working session with the People's Committee of Long Chu commune.

The working session aimed to grasp the difficulties and obstacles of localities, cooperatives, and linkage groups in implementing linkage policies, consuming agricultural products, and building and developing collective economy. From there, the Department will synthesize, report and advise the Provincial People's Committee to amend and promulgate policies to support agricultural production in the period 2025-2030./.
