Rectifying the parking situation causing traffic jams on National Highway 62

The People's Committee of Binh Hiep Commune (Tay Ninh) informed that recently, the number of vehicles coming to Binh Hiep International Border Gate has increased, with an average of about 200 vehicles per day, mainly tractor-trailers and containers. However, because the border gate area does not have a parking lot, the vehicles have to stop on National Highway 62 to wait for customs clearance and export of goods.

A series of container trucks stopped and parked on both sides of the road, obstructing vehicles entering and exiting the border gate.

Through the field survey, Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut requested units and localities to urgently rectify the situation of container trucks parking on both sides of the main road leading to Binh Hiep International Border Gate (Binh Hiep Commune, Tay Ninh), ensuring traffic safety and aesthetics. The Provincial Economic Zone Management Board needs to closely monitor and urge investors to speed up the progress of construction of parking lots in the Border Gate Economic Zone, creating favorable conditions for vehicles to stop and park during the process of carrying out customs clearance and import-export procedures. In case the investor does not implement, consider revoking the project, selecting a new investor or implementing it under the public investment method.

According to Mr. Truong Van Hung, Deputy Head of the Tay Ninh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, through working, the investor of the parking lot project in the Long An Border Gate Economic Zone committed to speed up the progress and complete the construction of a parking lot of about 2.9 hectares in 2026. The Tay Ninh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board also arranged human resources to coordinate with relevant forces to regularly regulate and remind drivers to stop and park in order; when there are many vehicles, they need to stop and park on branch roads to limit congestion on the main axis (National Highway 62) leading to Binh Hiep Border Gate. At the same time, the Management Board focused on reviewing and removing related obstacles in the implementation of planning and investment in technical infrastructure in the Binh Hiep Border Gate area...

The People's Committee of Binh Hiep Commune ( Tay Ninh ) informed that at times, vehicles parked on both sides of Highway 62, causing traffic obstruction, unsightliness, and even littering, causing environmental pollution. People have repeatedly reported this situation. The People's Committee of Binh Hiep Commune has reviewed and arranged public land for temporary parking lots to reduce the number of vehicles stopping and parking on the roadway. However, this solution is only temporary and does not completely solve the problem.

Vehicles entering and exiting the border gate must weave between two rows of trucks and containers parked on the roadway.

Binh Hiep International Border Gate is located in Long An Border Gate Economic Zone, directly connecting with Svay Rieng province of Cambodia. This border gate plays an important role in promoting trade, developing the border economy, strengthening friendship, cultural exchange and ensuring national security and defense between the two countries.

In recent times, the functional sector of Tay Ninh province (formerly Long An) has implemented technical infrastructure construction projects in the Economic Zone with many completed items such as joint control stations, connecting roads, contributing to improving the capacity of goods clearance and attracting investment. However, the implementation of planning and investment in the Binh Hiep international border gate area still has many shortcomings and limitations. The handover of assets and land between agencies and people related to the Long An Border Gate Economic Zone Technical Infrastructure Project still has many problems; the system of wharfs serving customs clearance has not been invested synchronously, leading to the situation of container trucks and trucks stopping and parking spontaneously, causing loss of aesthetics and potential risks to traffic safety...
