Coffee prices today, October 31, in the domestic market witnessed strong growth, recording an increase of 700 to 900 VND/kg, bringing the average price of the whole market to over 116,000 VND/kg. This is an unprecedented high price this year, in the context of record low inventories and unfavorable weather conditions threatening supply.

Domestic coffee price developments today October 31, 2025
Coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces have increased sharply, with the average price in the whole region ranging from 115,500 to 116,700 VND/kg. Specifically:
In Dak Lak : Increased by 700 VND/kg, reaching 116,400 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai : Increased by 800 VND/kg, reaching 116,200 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong : The strongest increase, 900 VND/kg, brought the price to about 115,500 - 116,700 VND/kg.
Uncertainty in global supply continues to push coffee prices higher. In Vietnam, prolonged heavy rains in the Central Highlands have disrupted the harvest, causing many coffee areas to ripen early, reducing the quality of coffee beans and increasing the risk of mold. Experts fear that coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop could be much lower than the USDA’s initial forecast of 31 million bags, although Vicofa had forecast a 10% increase if the weather is favorable.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, the world’s top coffee producer, drought in Minas Gerais state has dimmed the outlook for the 2026-2027 crop. Just 0.3 mm of rain was recorded last week, a near-insignificant level compared to the multi-year average, raising concerns about Arabica coffee production.
In addition, the severe decline in inventories on international exchanges also contributed to the increase in coffee prices. Arabica coffee inventories nearly hit a 1.5-year low, while Robusta also fell to its lowest level in more than 3 months, especially under the impact of the 50% tax policy that the US applied to coffee imported from Brazil.
Amid a shortage of supply, coffee acreage in Vietnam continues to expand. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said that as of September this year, the country's coffee acreage reached 764,400 hectares, up 2.3% (equivalent to 16,600 hectares) compared to the previous year. The application of new varieties and focused care have helped improve coffee productivity, with Vietnam's output forecast to increase by about 120,000 tons in the 2025-2026 crop year.
In particular, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company, under the leadership of Chairman Doan Nguyen Duc (Bau Duc), has completed planting 2,000 hectares of Arabica coffee and plans to expand by another 1,000 hectares this year. The company is expected to continue increasing the area to 3,500 hectares each year, with the goal of reaching a total area of 10,000 hectares in Vietnam and Laos by the end of 2027, of which 70% is Arabica coffee.
World coffee prices on October 31, 2025
In the international market, Robusta coffee prices continued to increase sharply on the ICE Futures Europe exchange in London. Specifically, the price of coffee futures for November 2025 increased by 149 USD (+3.36%) to 4,585 USD/ton, while futures such as January 2026 also recorded an increase of 145 USD (+3.25%) to 4,610 USD/ton.
Along with Robusta, Arabica coffee prices on the ICE Futures US New York floor also continued to increase. Specifically, the December 2025 delivery period increased by 2.80 cents (+0.72%) to 390.70 cents/lb, while the longer term also had a steady increase.
Although today's coffee prices have slightly adjusted and the stability of Robusta prices shows that the market is trying to find balance, Arabica prices are still under a lot of downward pressure due to weather concerns and the tariff situation between the US and Brazil. In particular, the forecast of rain in Brazil has helped to ease drought concerns, causing Arabica coffee prices to tend to decrease slightly.
However, coffee prices are still receiving strong support from the continued decline in global inventories. The market is expected to continue to fluctuate in a narrow range in the coming time, until there is more clarity on the trade negotiations between the US and Brazil and the rain situation in major coffee producing regions.
