The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has just issued Decision No. 1573/QD-UBND dated December 11, 2024 approving the document on the use of non-refundable aid capital of more than 2 billion VND for the project: Sustainable agroforestry model to enhance climate change adaptation capacity in Quang Ngai province (ESAR) funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark through World Vision International (WVI).
The project has a total non-refundable aid capital of more than 2 billion VND, equivalent to 84,000 USD and will be implemented from December 2024 to May 30, 2025 in Son Tra commune, Tra Bong district; Son Giang commune, Son Ha district; Long Hiep commune, Minh Long district and Ba To commune, Ba To district ( Quang Ngai province). In addition, the project will also be implemented in the same area of the regional programs of the districts: Ba To, Tra Bong, Son Ha and Minh Long.

The main activities of the project include: Organizing a kick-off workshop; Designing documents related to the agroforestry project; Organizing training for local partners and people benefiting from the project; Supporting inputs for 120 households in 04 districts such as: seedlings (areca, cinnamon, fertilizer); Supporting monitoring and consulting activities for 120 households in 04 districts during the implementation process; Organizing a project summary workshop
This project also contributes to improving the capacity of partners and farmers from selected localities in Quang Ngai province on sustainable agroforestry practices. At the same time, it strengthens local capacity on agroforestry practices, promotes sustainable community development and increases the resilience of local communities to climate change.
WVI operates in the fields of rural development, agriculture, forestry; disaster mitigation, adaptation to rural and urban climate change; promoting the resolution of socio-economic issues related to gender equality; economic empowerment for women, value chains; implementing programs and projects on microfinance, employment, violence prevention, community capacity building and emergency relief...
Among the many areas of WVI's activities in Vietnam, it is noteworthy that the Microfinance Program has helped more than 24,000 children benefit each year; more than 12,600 people have received financial education, including more than 3,500 people from poor and near-poor households (data as of September 2024).
