Livestock population has decreased slightly.

According to a report by the Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Environment, livestock farming in the province has been relatively stable since the beginning of the year. However, the total number of livestock has decreased slightly compared to the same period last year due to various reasons.

Specifically, by the end of April 2025, the province had over 3,500 buffaloes, a decrease of 4.7% compared to the same period. The main reason is low profitability, leading to farmers not restocking their herds. The cattle herd reached nearly 63,000 head, a decrease of 1.57% due to shrinking grazing areas, affecting feed sources, resulting in people not continuing to raise cattle after selling them.

Regarding pig and poultry farming, the implementation of Resolution No. 17 dated December 18, 2020, of the Provincial People's Council on prohibiting livestock farming in urban areas, towns, and residential areas, along with market difficulties and production costs, has prevented farmers from restocking their herds. Currently, the province has over 200,000 pigs, a decrease of 21.73%; and approximately 2.9 million poultry, a decrease of 1.33%.
