On the afternoon of October 13, the Ho Chi Minh City leadership delegation held a congratulatory ceremony and awarded a certificate of merit to director Bui Thac Chuyen.

The delegation included Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism... and a number of other guests.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City decided to award a certificate of merit to Mr. Bui Thac Chuyen, producer, director, and screenwriter of the film Tunnels - Sun in the Dark for "his outstanding achievements in literary and artistic activities on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification", along with a bonus of 10 million VND.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung awarded a certificate of merit, bonus and encouraged director Bui Thac Chuyen to continue to strive to make more and more good films, contributing to the audience and the country.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy shared, the movie The Tunnels - The Sun in the Dark was released on the occasion of commemorating a major political event of the country and Ho Chi Minh City, the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification. The film left a sense of pride and mixed with many very special emotions, was highly appreciated by experts and warmly received by audiences.

"HCMC contributed to the film during the production and post-production process. When the film received the audience's acceptance and affection, the government and those working in culture and propaganda were very happy and honored. The HCMC People's Committee has given instructions for agencies to coordinate closely to spread the film more strongly to the public. And as we have seen, the film left a great echo," said the Deputy Director of the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports.

Director Bui Thac Chuyen shared: "For a long time, the whole crew has put all their efforts into the film. I only receive the certificates of merit and recognition from the city for the film on behalf of everyone, because I am only a small part of the Tunnels film crew. Right from the first days of making the film, the city has paid great attention. Thanks to that attention and support, we were able to make this film. On behalf of the film crew, I would like to thank the departments, branches and sectors of Ho Chi Minh City."

Two actors in the film, Thai Hoa and Ho Thu Anh, attended the party with the director.
