86-year-old man hit and killed by train while pushing his bicycle across the railway

On March 17, Mr. Tran Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Son Commune, Gio Linh District ( Quang Tri Province), said that a railway accident had just occurred in the area, causing an old man to die on the spot.

Accordingly, at about 9:30 a.m. the same day, Mr. Nguyen Quoc T. (86 years old, residing in Kinh Mon village, Trung Son commune) was riding a bicycle from Kinh Mon village to National Highway 1.

When he reached the railway crossing in Kinh Mon village, Mr. T. was walking his bicycle across the railway when he was hit by the SE1 train traveling from North to South.

The strong collision caused Mr. T. to die on the spot. It is known that at the time of the incident, the train barrier was down.
