After winning First Prize at the National Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year, twin brothers Nguyen Tri Hien and Nguyen Tri Hau (grade 11, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Tam Ky City) continued to bring good news to Quang Nam when they both won Gold Medals at the 2025 International Math Olympiad (held in Turkmenistan).

Besides the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), this is also the second prestigious competition held for Mathematical talents from 15 countries around the world to exchange and enhance their capacity.

The Vietnamese team of 6 students participated in this competition and all won Gold Medals, in which Nguyen Tri Hien - Nguyen Tri Hau were two of the 3 faces with the highest scores of the delegation (40/50 points).

Right after returning from their excellent national team duties, Nguyen Tri Hien and Nguyen Tri Hau were commended and rewarded by the Provincial People's Committee with 150 million VND each.

This is a worthy and timely reward to encourage and motivate two 11th grade students in Tam Thanh countryside (Phu Ninh district) to strive to continue to achieve better results in the future, including the goal of participating in the 2026 IMO competition.

This is the third consecutive year that Quang Nam has had a student conquer an international competition and achieve optimistic results. Previously in 2023, Do Phu Quoc, a grade 11 student (Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted, Hoi An City), became the first face of Quang Nam to participate in the Abu Reikhan Beruniy International Chemistry Olympiad and excellently brought home a Gold Medal.

A year later, at the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), held in Saudi Arabia, with more than 300 students from 89 countries and territories around the world participating, the student from Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted once again affirmed his talent by winning the Silver Medal.

Not stopping at the national excellent student playground, Quang Nam students in the past 3 years have begun to reach out to the big sea in the international arena and brought back sweet fruits.

With 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal, the outstanding achievements of Phu Quoc, Tri Hien and Tri Hau students are also worthy results for the efforts of the Quang Nam education sector in investing in key quality, aiming at the goal of nurturing and training talents for the country.

Regarding the fact that the Quang Nam education sector is increasingly affirming its position in international competitions, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung expressed his joy and emotion, affirming that the recent achievements of the students are the pride not only of their families and the education sector but also of all cadres and people in the province.

Quang Nam students' high achievements in international Olympic competitions are a testament to the efforts of teachers and students in promoting the tradition of the land of learning; at the same time, it is a step to create momentum to strive for higher results, bringing glory to the homeland of Quang Nam in the coming time.
