The mark of Quang Nam, a land of learning.

After winning first prize at the National Excellent Student Examination in the 2024-2025 school year, twin brothers Nguyen Tri Hien and Nguyen Tri Hau (11th grade, Nguyen Binh Khiem Specialized High School, Tam Ky City) continued to bring good news to Quang Nam province when both won Gold Medals at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad (held in Turkmenistan).

Besides the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), this is also the second prestigious competition organized for mathematical talents from 15 countries around the world to exchange ideas and enhance their abilities.

The Vietnamese team, consisting of 6 students, participated in this competition and all won Gold Medals. Among them, Nguyen Tri Hien and Nguyen Tri Hau were two of the three students who achieved the highest scores in the delegation (40/50 points).

Immediately upon returning from their outstanding performance with the national team, Nguyen Tri Hien and Nguyen Tri Hau were commended and rewarded by the Provincial People's Committee with 150 million VND each.

This well-deserved reward serves as timely encouragement and motivation for the two 11th-grade students from the rural area of Tam Thanh (Phu Ninh district) to strive for even better results in the future, including their goal of achieving a top score in the 2026 IMO.

This is the third consecutive year that Quang Nam has had a student conquer an international competition and achieve positive results. Previously, in 2023, Do Phu Quoc, then a 11th-grade student (Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted, Hoi An City), became the first representative from Quang Nam to participate in the Abu Reikhan Beruniy International Chemistry Olympiad and excellently won a Gold Medal.

A year later, at the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), held in Saudi Arabia, with over 300 students from 89 countries and territories participating, the student from Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted once again affirmed his talent by winning a Silver Medal.

Not content with just competing at the national level, students from Quang Nam province have begun venturing into the international arena in the last three years and have reaped the rewards.

With 3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal, the students from Phu Quoc, Tri Hien, and Tri Hau achieved exceptionally outstanding results, a well-deserved reward for the efforts of Quang Nam's education sector in investing in high-quality education, aiming to nurture and train talented individuals for the country.

In light of Quang Nam's education sector increasingly asserting its position in international competitions, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung expressed his joy and emotion, affirming that the recent achievements of the students are a source of pride not only for their families and the education sector but also for all officials and people in the province.

The high achievements of Quang Nam students at international Olympic competitions are a testament to the efforts of teachers and students in upholding the tradition of learning in this region; it also serves as a stepping stone to strive for even higher results, bringing glory to their homeland of Quang Nam in the future.
