Deputy Head of the Ha Tinh National Assembly Delegation Tran Dinh Gia participated in questioning the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court on solutions to implement targets and meet requirements for judicial reform.

On the morning of November 7, the National Assembly questioned members of the Government and heads of sectors on the implementation of a number of resolutions of the 14th National Assembly and from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term to the end of the 4th Session on thematic supervision and questioning in the following areas: justice; internal affairs; security, order, and social safety; inspection; court; prosecution; and audit.

In questioning, Deputy Head of the Ha Tinh National Assembly Delegation Tran Dinh Gia commented that with the trend of people increasingly choosing to resolve disputes in court, according to the work report of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the number of cases handled each year has increased, and their nature is increasingly complicated, with current human resources and conditions, it is very difficult.

Therefore, the delegate requested the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court to provide solutions to direct the good implementation of targets according to the National Assembly's resolution and meet the requirements of judicial reform.

Responding to questions, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh said that the judiciary has taken many measures to improve the quality of trials. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen mediation work. Since the Mediation Law took effect, mediation work has been effectively implemented, helping to significantly reduce pressure.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court emphasized that the increased application of information technology and the use of virtual court assistants are considered a bright spot in the application of artificial intelligence. There have been 3.4 million judges and secretaries using virtual assistants, thereby contributing to improving the quality of work. In addition, the industry has strengthened and innovated training and fostering to improve the capacity of the team of judges; promoted responsibility, and encouraged officials and civil servants in the industry to focus on their work and complete their tasks.

The Chief Justice also said that a fundamental solution being implemented is that the Supreme People's Court is proposing and the National Assembly has agreed to amend the Law on Court Organization, thereby helping the court system proactively arrange its apparatus reasonably; form specialized courts to improve the quality of resolving specialized cases; reasonably change the duties and powers of judges; and have appropriate regimes and policies for judges.

Regarding the long-term orientation, with increasingly high task requirements and increasing workload, an average of 600,000 cases/year, in the coming time, the court sector will propose to competent authorities to reasonably increase staffing for the court system.
